Vaults are logically air-gapped and can be locked so backups stay immutable for their full retention. Data is encrypted with air-gapped, auto-rotated Eon-managed keys, or with your own KMS key.

Eon's threat detection finds PHP versions vulnerable to PHP2Shell (CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619) in your backups and flags each affected resource as a high-risk vulnerable application, with the version it found and the snapshots that contain it. Threat hunting also scans VM backups with YARA rules, including web shell signatures, so you can find indicators of compromise and choose a clean restore point. It complements patching; it doesn't replace it. Follow CISA's guidance and update PHP first.
